Inspiration

For the effective fast-tracking and promotion of construction and renovation innovation with local value chains, nascent innovation clusters need to form links with regional/national innovation hubs and clusters.

A long-term network structure is needed to support these clusters and enable them to nurture and help deliver public and private investments in a manner that supports both sustainable construction and renovation innovation and the digitalization of the value chain.

Innovation

In the framework of the STAR*track project, six new Built4People Innovation Clusters (B4PICs) will be set up and receive direct support in regions which, to date, have not been covered by the B4PIC network. Tools and training will be provided to the B4PICs and their members to increase the development and market transfer of sustainable construction and renovation innovation. Funding will be facilitated for the demonstration, scale-up and implementation of sustainable innovation by local/regional construction value chains.

LIST will leverage on its knowledge, skills and tools to support innovation in construction, with a long-term series of projects and activities directly targeted at supporting the innovative stakeholders of the built environment. In particular, compliance with the SFDR and EU taxonomy will be addressed by a LIST team with a view of providing support and guidance to the EU innovation actors.

Impact

The impact of the B4PIC network and the B4PICs themselves will be measured to show their significance for the green, digital and people-centric transition of the built environment sector, the up-skilling of innovation actors, and the acceleration of construction and renovation products and solutions towards climate neutrality, in line with the impacts laid out in the Horizon Europe Work Programme.
