LIST HOSTS THE 11TH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON VALUE MODELING AND BUSINESS ONTOLOGIES

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) hosted the 11th International Workshop on Value Modeling and Business Ontologies (VMBO) on March 6^th and 7^th 2017.

The importance of modeling the essence of enterprises on a level that abstracts from operational details is increasingly recognized. Business ontology provides abstract descriptions of enterprises in their daily context, focusing on what is needed to create and transfer value.

VMBO successfully provided an interactive environment to researchers from Europe and the United States of America. During two days, the presentations and discussions covered topics around value co-creation, big data, auditing and blockchain.

This year’s event was sponsored by the Netherlands Research School for Information and Knowledge Systems (SIKS) and the American Accounting Association (AAA) - Strategic and Emerging Technologies Section.
