On 28 April 2017, LIST participated in the Morpheus Cup European Championship, which took place at the University of Luxembourg Belval Research & Innovation Campus. Around 200 students from 16 different countries came together to participate at the different challenges and to present ambitious research projects competing for the big price of 10 000 EUR.

LIST supported students’ initiatives by sponsoring three new price categories: Circular Economy, Nanomaterials and Data Analytics, three lines of business at LIST and of special interest to Luxembourg.

Prior to the event students were invited to send their projects to compete for different categories. A jury at LIST selected the three wining projects for the categories of Circular Economy, Data Analytics and Nanomaterials.

On the category of Circular Economy, a group of students from the Chaalmers University of Technology, with the project Circular Sens on applying circular economy to Volvo wheel loaders captivated the jury. For the category of Data Analytics, the price went to students of INSEEX BS Bordeaux with the project Datazonia, a market place for personal data. Finally, for the category of Nanomaterials the project Exotrail from the Ecole Polytechnique de Cambridge on the use of nanosatellites

At the event the best team for each category was invited to pitch for the Special Jury Award in front of a jury composed of HR professionals and entrepreneurs:  Emese Bekessy (Executive VP HR, Cargolux), Francois-Xavier Moutel (Founder, Abalone), Vicky Hapuc (HR Business Partner, Accenture), Karl Burns (Head of HR, Vodafone), Nancy Wendt (Project Manager, LIST) and Roger Lampach (CEO, LuxConnect).

The Special Jury Award of 10,000€ was given to the project ProDIGIES from the University of Luxembourg for their innovative parking solution.
