LIST WELCOMES RENOWNED PROF HOSONO FROM JAPAN

On 4 April 2017, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and technology (LIST) welcomed the renowned Profesor Hideo Hosono, for a visit to the laboratories of the Nanomaterials/Nanotechnologies unit at LIST’s premises at Belvaux.

Prof Hosono is Director of the "Materials Research Center for Element Strategy", a member of the Science Council of Japan. He has won several awards among them: the Bernd T. Matthias Prize, the APS Mc Groddy Award, the Imperial Prize, the Japan Academy Award, the Japan Prize and the Purple Ribbon Medal.

Eminently recognized in the scientific community of transparent electronics and inventor of the InGaZnO thin films integrated in thin film transistors of LED TV and OLED, Prof Hosono exchanged ideas and experience particularly with LIST scientists who are members of the transparent electronics group and optical nanocomposites.

This visit took place in the framework of the COST-TOBE conference "Towards Oxide Based-Electronics" and will strengthen LIST’s international relations and visibility among the world’s top research institutions to continue promoting knowledge and technology.
