Description

Regenerated cellulose fibers are manufactured from plant cellulose and have interesting potential in terms of their physical and mechanical properties for use in fiber-reinforced composites. They are biodegradable and are currently used mainly for the production of textiles, hygiene articles, filters and paper. Unlike natural fibers, they can be produced in reproducible quality and are not subject to variations due to cultivation or the environment. Despite all this, their potential for use in composite applications has hardly been exploited to date.
