Public lecture on climate modelling

On 1 October 2015, a lecture entitled "The past, present and future of regional climate modeling," will be given by Prof. Dr. Filippo Giorgi, head of the "Earth System Physics" section of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy, as part of the 2015 CLM Community Assembly.

Open to the public, the lecture will be given in English. It will be held at 17:00 at LIST's offices at 41, rue du Brill in Belvaux. Admission is free.

Prof. Giorgi is known for his contributions to the field of climate modelling and is one of the most cited scientists in the field of geosciences. From 2002-2008, Prof. Giorgi was one of the Vice-Chairs of Working Group 1 of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.

This event is organized as part of the tenth general assembly of the community "Climate Limited-area Modelling" (CLM) being held this year in Luxembourg from 29 September to 2 October, 2015.
