From 28 to 30 November 2024, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) will participate in the new edition of the Researchers' Days, organised by the National Research Fund (FNR) at the Rockhal, in Esch-sur-Alzette (Belval).
On Thursday 28th and Friday 29th the Researchers' Days will open its doors to students at school in Luxembourg, then to the public on Saturday 30th.
The purpose of this event is to present and promote science and research in Luxembourg and to foster the interest of young people and the general public in science and technology, through interactive workshops and science-related shows.
LIST researchers will hold 4 booths to present their activities:
Come to our stand to have fun with magical materials! They convert heat into electricity and vice versa. Join us to produce electricity from heat and power our Christmas lights! Come and make a mini fridge or a heater! Our materials will keep you warm in winter and cool you down in summer.
Come and split water molecules and produce clean hydrogen using light, wind or your body’s energy ! Use this hydrogen to propel your fuel cell car to victory ! Celebrate with a hydrogen explosion !
Experience the transformation of bamboo fibres into sustainable materials through the lens of chemistry, physics, materials science and a touch of magic. Engage in interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and dig into the world of 3D printing.
Shatter gender stereotypes! Roll the dice, draw a card, and hand it to your researcher pawn! Ta-da! A question pops up on the screen – interact with your teammates! Does your answer match the findings of the social sciences? Let’s play the GG (Gender Game) and have fun!
