GovSatCom Conference for European Defence and Security

GovSatCom Conference for European Defence and Security will take place on 23 November 2016 in the Château de Betzdorf, Luxembourg. This one day event is organised by GovSat, the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, SES with the support of Luxinnovation, the SnT and LIST.

Lucien Hoffmann, Director of Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) department at LIST, will participate in the panel starting at 11h30 during which the national GovSatCom perspective on areas such as crisis managemnt, humanitarian aid and surveillance of civil protecion, key infrastructures and borders will be outlined. The evolution of big data will also be looked at in relation to secure data aggreagtion ad dissemination, and high-performance computing systems. In this context, keeping citizens safe and healthy is a key concern for governments and a challenge which is constantly evolving.
