Bringing together public research laboratories and companies is the main objective of the annual Luxinnovation event Business meets Research, held on 21 and 22 May, 2015. About 250 entrepreneurs and researchers met at the Belval Innovation Campus, a symbolic place for the RDI actors in Luxembourg.
This year, Business meets Research offered a formula more focused on the discovery of the world of applied research. Indeed, entrepreneurs eager to innovate were able to visit the laboratories of Luxembourg public research organisations and discover their skills and know-how in research and innovation projects.
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) naturally took an active part in this event that targets the entire Greater Region. Professor Dr. Gabriel Crean, CEO of LIST, was the keynote speaker of this 2015 edition and presented the ‘Key Enabling Technologies’ as drivers of competitiveness and underlined the strengths of future fields of research. The institute also led three of the twelve thematic tours offered to participants. They were dedicated to Web 3.0 intelligence, nanomaterials and environmental technologies. In total, around a hundred entrepreneurs were able to discover some of the fourteen leading technologies and services of LIST promoted during the event.
LIST researchers also took an active part in the Innovation Matchmaking session of bilateral meetings. These thirty-minute meetings were a good opportunity for discussion in order to identify possible collaborations and perhaps even to launch new collaborative projects in the future.
