LIST and CURE Intelligence to develop AI-driven platform for automated compliance

Legal tech innovation has taken a major leap in Luxembourg as LIST and CURE Intelligence officially launched their groundbreaking collaboration for the AURELA-AI project. This new initiative aims to reshape automated compliance, particularly in the area of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.

Dirk Fransaer, CEO ad interim of LIST and PD Dr. Joscha Krause, Head of Analytics & Insights at CURE Intelligence, cemented the partnership, joined by LuxProvide’s CEO, Arnaud Lambert, and Moritz von Kunow from Governance Tailor S.à r.l.-S., key contributors to the project. Supported by Luxembourg’s supercomputer MeluXina, the project is set to make the most of advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies to address compliance challenges for companies operating in highly regulated sectors.

Djamel Khadraoui, Head of Reliable Distributed Systems (READY) Unit at LIST, stated:

"AURELA-AI will develop an SaaS platform that autonomously monitors and interprets AML laws, assesses their applicability to specific companies, and provides concise summaries of relevant legal obligations. The platform will also identify existing compliance risks and offer strategies to mitigate them, positioning AURELA as a tool for financial institutions and companies operating in the financial sector."

Luxembourg, as one of Europe’s financial centres, faces stringent regulatory demands, making automated compliance essential. The platform is expected to deliver significant efficiency improvements by reducing the manual effort required for AML compliance and increasing the precision of regulatory analysis.

Funded by the Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy and the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), and developed in collaboration with LuxProvide and Governance Tailor, AURELA is poised to transform the compliance landscape by harnessing AI and Luxembourg’s robust research ecosystem.
