The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and Schroeder et Associés, the Luxembourg-based company specialising in engineering, structure, infrastructure and services, announce a new Partnership Framework Agreement.
This new agreement principally aims to seek out and explore innovative solutions in Luxembourg and internationally, with focus on the research and development in the domain of water resources management, construction, and mobility.
More specifically the research and development within the partnership will target three main areas: The management of water resources and in particular wastewater treatment, construction with a focus on information management systems for planning of sustainable and healthy buildings, and mobility looking at Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) and the integration with the road infrastructures. PhD training activities are also integrated into the agreement.
“We are looking forward to embarking on these complex projects with such capable research teams,” says Thierry Flies, Administrateur délégué of Schroeder et Associés. “Innovation is the key for our future development, and we are fortunate to have such high-level scientists at LIST to work on these topics with our teams.”
This is not the first time Schroeder et Associés and LIST have worked together, for example they collaborated in a project involved in deconstructing the “Jean Monnet” building in Kirchberg as well as in an INTERREG project “Advanced Digital Solutions Supporting the High-Value Recovery and Reuse of Building Materials”. The partnership agreement signed between the two parties will allow for a more structured and strategic long-term collaboration.
Schroeder et Associés bring their expertise to the table for this partnership in the fields of building information management technologies, wastewater treatment technologies, know-how in the domain of sustainable and healthy building, and know-how in the domain of sustainable mobility for the different transport networks.
LIST also has expertise in wastewater treatment technologies and building information management technologies, but also great knowledge of digital twins, decision support systems and virtual reality.
“This cooperation agreement will be a natural extension of work that LIST has been doing for years in environmental research and technology development,” says Lucien Hoffmann, Director of the Environmental Research and Innovation department at LIST. “This agreement will expand our scope and allow us to collaborate more closely with Schroeder et Associés to drive successful solutions to solve environmental challenges.”
