After initial discussions at the INNOVATIVE CITY 2017 Forum held in Nice in early July, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) hosted a delegation from Nice on 18 September 2017 from 1 to 4 pm.
The delegation comprised of Mr Pierre-Jean Barre, Director of the Mediterranean Institute for Risk, Environment and Sustainable Development (IMREDD), and Mrs Marianne Mensah, Operational Director of international programmes at the Université Alpes Cotes d'Azur (UCA) accompanied by Mr Cyril Dary, Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the French departments of Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-Maritimes.
The meeting reflects a mutual eagerness to work more closely together in the field of "smart territories and durability", with initial discussions in four areas of joint interest:
The discussions centred on the abilities of LIST, IMREDD and UCA to meet public and private sector requests in the area of smart territories. They confirmed the potential for synergies and collaborations to contribute to each organisation's missions, and the strengths, skills and partnerships of the stakeholders present. In the short term, subjects of common interest will be discussed in more detail with a view to sharing best practices and fostering an international network encompassing smart territories and collaborative projects.
