For the five coming years, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and PM International will collaborate on innovative bio-based supplements for health, fitness, wellness and beauty product lines. This national collaboration underlines the importance of research and development activities for manufacturers and integrates public research into the heart of industrial needs.

On 13 September, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), a Research and Technology Organization that develops advanced technologies and delivers innovative products and services to industry and society, signed a cooperation agreement with PM International AG, a company specialized in the direct marketing of health, fitness, wellness and beauty products, offering worldwide high-quality food supplements and cosmetics. With this signature, the Luxembourg-based company aims to significantly advance its research and development activities with the aim of developing innovative bio-based supplements for health, fitness, wellness and beauty product lines. The agreement defines a five-year common framework for research projects with LIST’s Environmental Research and Innovation department. As part of this framework, LIST will also support PM International in the creation of a corporate research and development center in Luxembourg.

LIST and PM International AG will work closely together in order to establish a joint infrastructure, and eventually joint labs for operations and investments in the area of the extraction and processing of plant-based molecules. LIST will capitalise on its longstanding expertise in bio-economy, especially in the valorisation of plant-based molecules for industrial applications. With this collaboration, LIST takes a further step towards concrete and direct industrial applications of its activities while contributing, together with PM International AG, to the further advance of research and development on Luxembourg ground. Building on these promising perspectives, LIST aims to further consolidate its ambition to establish a green technologies platform, developing innovative enabling technologies to contribute to the national circular economy strategy.
