On Wednesday 22 June 2016, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) organised a meeting about the presentation of the European CERTI4TRAIN "Certification of Continuous Vocational Education and Training Trainers" project results. About thirty representatives of training institutions, certification body, independent trainers and institutional stakeholders actively participated in this event.
Co-funded by the European Commission within the Erasmus+ Programme, the CERTI4TRAIN project brings together five European partners around the LIST, the project coordinator that also provides its expertise in computer based assessment of competences. Since the project launch in 2014, all the partners are working to develop a European skill references and a European certification for trainers.
Nearly two years later, it is now done! A trainer certification scheme in continuing education and training (CVET), in compliance with the requirements of ISO 17024 – an international standard containing requirements and principles for bodies operating certification of persons – has been developed. A committee of 52 experts coming from 10 European countries is currently involved in the validation of the CERTI4TRAIN results, project that will end on 31 August.
Given the number of requests for information regarding the certification of trainers, two additional presentation of results meetings will be held on 19 July and 10 August, from 11.30 am to 13.00 pm in LIST’s premises at the House of Innovation in Esch-Belval.
