Phytofactories 2025

Phytofactories 2025, an international conference on Plant Molecular Farming, hosted by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), will take place from 18 to 20 June 2025 in Luxembourg.

Following the success of Phytofactories 2023, where more than 100 attendees joined us in Luxembourg, we are thrilled to announce this second edition! This conference is a pivotal moment as we also celebrate the creation of the International Association for Plant Cell Culture Research, a dedicated community that we hope will grow over time and foster collaboration on the study and applications of plant cell cultures.

Phytofactories 2025 is centred on the exploitation of plant diversity using cell and tissue cultures and aims to cover the valorization chain of plant resources. It will bring together experts in the production and characterization of specialized plant metabolites, as well as those applying this knowledge in dedicated pilot processes. Therefore, topics such as the establishment and optimization of plant cell and tissue cultures, metabolite characterization will be discussed together with the latest innovations in bioprocessing and metabolic engineering.

Topics

  • Advances in callogenesis, hairy root formation and plant regeneration
  • Plant cell suspension and hairy root cultures to produce speciality molecules and industrial applications
  • Process optimization
  • Challenges and prospects in phytofactories
  • Plant genome editing and metabolic engineering
  • Germplasm preservation technologies

Important dates

  • Abstract submission for Phytofactories2025 will open in October 2024.
  • Abstract submission deadline: 15 March 2025
  • Notification to the authors: 30 March 2025
  • Author registration: 10 April 2025
