The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) will participate in the World Summit on Environmental Accounting 2016 that will take place on July 4-6, 2016 at the Beijing Normal University (China).
Enrico Benetto from our department, Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN), was invited as Keynote Speaker at the international conference.
In his presentation, titled “Computationally-based Life Cycle Sustainability approaches to design and assess Circular Economy Systems” the head of the unit "Life Cycle Sustainability and Risk Assessment" will present his vision of research and innovation in the field of computational sustainability approaches to pursue circular economy. Enrico will also co-chair the session “Integrated Environmental Accounting”.
Many attendees from Asia, but also Europe, Japan and the United States will attend this event organized by the Beijing Normal University. In this context, high level keynote speakers will share their knowledge and expertise: Mathis Wackernagel (co-creator of the Ecological Footprint and President of Global Footprint Network), Anders Wijkman (Co-Director Club of Rome, Stockholm Environment Institute -SEI- and Department of Energy Systems, Linköping University, Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences), Donald Huisingh (Founder and Former Editor-in-Chief of Elsevier Journal of Cleaner Production).
At the same conference Antonino Marvuglia (ERIN) will present, in a dedicated show event, the “Software for CALculating EMergy based on life cycle inventories” (SCALEM), developed by LIST and INSA Toulouse. He will also co-chair the session “Computational Algorithms for Sustainability Assessment of Anthropic System and Water Resource Management”.
