One mission of religion is to strengthen the sense of responsibility of humans towards their environment. Soil scientists can also help create awareness about the importance of soil protection in the frame of a religious worldview. This chapter attempts to address the systematic context of the contents of the Quran in relation to soil as represented by key quotes. The anthropocentric view of Islam is that the universe and its elements care for the common good of humankind and witness the magnificence of God. God made humankind his representative (Caliph) and vicegerent on earth to manage it according to His principles, targets and purposes. Now, the development of an Islamic eco-theology is indispensable. Different approaches to that are discussed. It is suggested that soil and environmental scientists work together with religious authorities (Ulamā) to act on local, regional, national and cross-levels on Islamic environmental ethics and, particularly, Islamic ethics on human-nature relations.
